West Bromwich Albion have today confirmed that veteran midfielder James Morrison has signed a new one-year contract that will keep him at The Hawthorns for the upcoming season. Morrison, who also has the option of a second year if he chooses, has been with the Baggies since 2007 and in that time he’s established himself as a firm fan favourite.
Morrison’s career exploded into life back in 2004 when he burst onto the scene with Middlesbrough, before he secured a move to the Midlands.
West Brom are set to kick off their Championship campaign this weekend as they aim to bounce straight back up into the Premier League. The club had a dire first half of the season last year, and despite a late surge of momentum, they were unable to prevent themselves from slipping down to the second tier.
Morrison will be hoping to start when West Brom take on Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.
