The future of James Rodriguez, who spent the last two years at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, remains unclear. Bayern have decided against triggering the option to buy the Colombian permanently for €42 million, and if reports in Spain are to be believed, it’s quite clear he has no place in the plans of Real head coach Zinedine Zidane either.
Further more, Real need to generate funds to put their plans of a massive squad overhaul into action this summer, and Rodriguez is one of the first names on the list of likely departures.
The attacking midfielder has reportedly attracted the attentions of Juventus and Napoli, but when asked about it, he didn’t seem very thrilled with the prospect of continuing his career in Italy.
“Naples or Turin? I prefer Medellin”, he said, as relayed by Marca.
The 27-year-old insists he is calm at the moment, focused only on Colombia, who are preparing to face Argentina in their Copa America opener on June 15th.
