Premier League survival expert Sam Allardyce has already started to work his magic at Everton, and the Toffees have started to look like a team that can actually defend again. With his side now up to ninth, Big Sam will be looking to bolster the squad in January and push for a top six finish.
One man on Everton’s shopping list is James Tomkins, according to the Evening Standard. The centre half worked with Allardyce during his time in charge of West Ham, but made the switch to Crystal Palace in July 2016.
Since then he has become an important figure in the Eagles defence, but reports suggest that the Toffees would be willing to shell out £20m for the 28-year old.
Everton have conceded 30 goals this season, and while their form has been trending upwards of late, the addition of Tomkins would allow them to continue their ascent up the table.
