According to Sport Bild in Germany, James Rodriguez threw an angry tantrum in Bayern Munich’s dressing room, exclaiming he was about to inform manager Niko Kovač of his intention to leave the club.
James joined Bayern from Real Madrid last summer on a two-year loan deal for which the Bavarians parted with €13million. Rodriguez’s rage was directed straight at Kovač, with the Colombian international extremely unhappy with being continuously left out of the starting XI. He apparently shouted “We’re not at Frankfurt!”, alluding to the Croatian’s former club Eintracht.
At Sport Bild they believe this outburst of the 27-year-old is actually a reflection of a mini-crisis currently going on in the dressing room at the Allianz Arena. The players are unhappy that Kovač hasn’t master the German language properly and often speaks to his brother and assistant Robert, goalkeeper Toni Tapalović and club sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić in Croatian.
Apart from that, the players apparently disagree with the manager’s approach to tactical analysis. They find that he, unlike former coaches Jup Heynckess and Pep Guardiola, tends to focus on defending a lot. They also have their doubts about his rotation policy.
