James Rodriguez wants to leave Real Madrid after all, Sport reports. It is rumoured that he wants to go to Napoli, where he would once again play under Carlo Ancelotti.
There had been rumours about the Colombian midfielder wanting to leave Santiago Bernabeu this season, with Atletico Madrid being one of the possibilities. However, after receiving warm welcome following his return from Bayern Munich where he was on loan for the previous two seasons, James expressed his delight at being able to play at Barnabeu once again and resolve to train hard, prompting us to believe that he was intent on making it there. At the time AS reported that James would not be asking the club to go after all.
Sport cites Italian sources who claim that James’s agent Jorge Mendes has informed the club of James’ intention to leave. Apparently, they are open to two options, one where James would go out on loan for a season with an obligation to make the transfer permanent in 2020 for €42 million and the other reducing the club’s asking price to €35 million and having James leave permanently this summer.
