Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher is confident that the Reds will improve their performance when they face West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Liverpool laboured an unconvincing 1-0 victory over Hungarian minnows Debrecen in midweek to kick-off their Champions League campaign.
West Ham at the Boleyn Ground should prove a difficult test for the Merseyside outfit, although Carragher is confident that Liverpool will build on their three consecutive clean sheets with an improved performance.
Jamie told the club’s official website ” We have had three clean sheets on the trot, which is encouraging, I expect the fans will see an improvement in performance from us.”
“We did not have too much problem in general play, it is just that at set-pieces it has not always gone well. But we feel that we have rectified that over the last few games – we’ll just have to keep working on that.”
He went on to admit Liverpool’s patchy Premier League start saying ” We have had a bit of a dodgy start, but losing two games isn’t a total disaster just like winning three games doesn’t mean we are back on fire.”
