January 14th: Sunday’s European Accumulator – 6/1

With a stacked Sunday schedule on the cards, the likes of Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League will all steal most of this weekend’s headlines.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Sunday.

Sunday, January 14th

BST 12:00 QPR vs Watford

While Watford might still be dreaming of the chance to book a shock play-off ticket in 2024, the Hornets are seeking some recent stability. However, eventually extending on their FA Cup adventure last week as they secured a 2-1 win against National League high-flyers Chesterfield, Valerien Ismael’s men have lost just one of their previous six appearances across all competitions. Putting in a stunning performance last week as they stormed their way to a 5-1 romp away at Preston, Sunday’s guests will be excited by their continued success on the road. In fact, including a 2-1 victory against fellow play-off dreamers Hull on December 2nd, the former West Brom boss has seen his squad muster 10 points from their last four Championship contests away from Vicarage Road. Likewise, landing a 4-0 win when they welcomed QPR to town for their reverse second-tier showdown on August 5th, Watford will be looking for a repeat performance here. Although Sunday’s hosts might have clung to their Championship status last season, the west London outfit are enduring another public struggle. Firmly battling it out in the drop zone and rightfully tipped as a leading relegation contender, QPR are without a single victory from their previous seven appearances across all formats. It should also be noted, Marti Cifuentes’ side have lost all of their previous three contests at Loftus Road by an aggregate score of 6-3.

Tip: Watford draw no bet @ 20/21

13:00 Almeria vs Girona

Opening the New Year with another iconic display as they secured a 4-3 victory at home against Atletico Madrid, Girona have already cemented their spot as Europe’s ultimate surprise package this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them off top spot in the La Liga standings, many in Michel Sanchez’s camp are starting to believe that they can mount a genuine title charge in 2024. Rightfully receiving a string of plaudits from across the continent, Sunday’s guests have collected a remarkable 48 points from their first 19 La Liga appearances this season. Appearing to be breezing their way to at least a Champions League ticket this season, Girona will certainly be smelling a golden opportunity here. Picking up an action-packed 5-2 win when they welcomed Almeria to the Estadio Montilivi back on October 22nd, Sanchez’s record-breaking squad will be relishing a trip to Andalusia this weekend. Sat rock-bottom of the La Liga table and enduring a public crisis, La Union have failed to record a single top-flight victory in the board this season. Already sat 11 points adrift of safety, Gaizka Garitano’s side have come under a hefty amount of scrutiny. Crashing out of the Copa del Rey last month following an infamous 1-0 defeat at the hands of fourth-tier outfit Barbastro, we are expecting what could be an enjoyable away victory for the title contenders this weekend.

Tip: Girona win & Over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

14:00 Everton vs Aston Villa

Only continuing on what has been a real Premier League fairytale this season, Aston Villa will simply be looking to make another statement of intent here. Remarkably opening this weekend’s fixtures sat second in the table, it is no secret that Unai Emery’s men have their sights set on securing a famous Champions League ticket in 2024. Gaining a string of plaudits for their free-scoring performances in the final third. Sunday’s guests have also lost just one of their previous 13 straight appearances across all competitions. Punching a Europa Conference League ticket last month and tipped as a leading European contender this season, the one-time Arsenal boss should be smelling a potential opportunity here. Breezing their way to a stellar 4-0 romp when they welcomed Everton to Villa Park for their reverse Premier League showdown on August 20th, the Villains will be looking to cash in on a Blues squad who are at the heart of another extended blip. While Sean Dyche’s men might have enjoyed their own respective Premier League flurry last month, Sunday’s guests have largely come crashing back down to earth. Although Everton might have snatched an FA Cup replay away at Crystal Palace last week, the ex-Burnley boss has seen his squad fail to win any of their previous five meetings against top-flight opposition. Signing off 2023 with a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Wolves, the Toffees should be bracing themselves for another stern examination here.

Tip: Aston Villa draw no bet @ 19/20
