January 24th: Wednesday’s English Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

On a Wednesday schedule that is highlighted by Liverpool’s EFL Cup second leg showdown against Fulham, there are plenty of interesting affairs from across England’s top tiers.

With Leeds welcoming Norwich to Elland Road in what could prove to be a pivotal battle in the Championship play-off chase, there are plenty of intriguing betting markets that are available throughout Wednesday night.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have found a pair of noteworthy betting tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

19:45 Leeds vs Norwich

While Leeds might have lost their Premier League status last season, it is no secret that Daniel Farke’s side have their sights set on securing an immediate top-flight return in 2024. Continuing to shine at Elland Road and gaining a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third, Daniel Farke will certainly be looking to get one over on his former employers here.

Sat firmly in the driving seat to punch a play-off ticket, the Yorkshire-based outfit have won all of their previous four appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 11-1.

Last seen mounting a stellar comeback on home soil as they secured a 2-1 victory against Preston, Farke’s side will now be dreaming of the chance to make up some ground in the automatic promotion hunt in midweek.

Likewise, landing a dramatic 3-2 victory when they travelled to Carrow Road for their reverse Championship meeting against Norwich back on October 21st, Farke will be calling on a repeat performance in Yorkshire.

Although the Canneries might be enjoying their own extended flurry, David Wagner’s men are still tipped as an outside contender in this season’s play-off chase.

However, although Thursday’s guests might be enjoying their longest winning run since the end of August, Norwich have shown some extended inconsistencies on the road.

In fact, Wagner’s side have managed to muster just a single Championship victory from any of their previous five contests away from Carrow Road – a run that stems back to December 3rd.

Likewise, suffering a 2-1 defeat when they last travelled to Yorkshire while on Premier League duties back in March 2022, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

20:00 Fulham vs Liverpool

Although Liverpool might have shockingly missed out on a Champions League ticket last season, Jurgen Klopp’s side have come roaring back this time around. Riding what has been a major wave of momentum and continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across England’s elite, the former Borussia Dortmund boss should find the mood in his camp at a red-hot high.

Leading the chase at the top of the Premier League table and tipped as a leading title contender in 2024, Wednesday’s guests have won all of their previous five straight domestic appearances across all competitions.

Likewise, along with opening the New Year with an action-packed 4-2 victory against Newcastle, Liverpool have lost just one of their last 15 straight outings – a run that stems all the way back to November 9th.

Landing a 2-1 victory when they welcomed Fulham to Anfield for their first leg showdown on January 10th, Klopp’s side will be looking to finish off the job on Wednesday night and punch their ticket to Wembley.

On the flip side, while the Cottagers might have signed off 2023 with a stellar 2-1 victory against title hopefuls Arsenal, Marco Silva’s men have struggled to find any kind of stability.

Last seen slumping to a 1-0 loss against west London rivals Chelsea, Fulham have lost four of their previous six appearances across all competitions and almost find themselves sat in Premier League limbo.

Hit with that 2-1 defeat when they travelled to Anfield earlier in the month, the ex-Everton boss will have a real headache over his side’s extended defensive issues.

Including a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Bournemouth on Boxing Day, the Cottagers have recorded just a single clean sheet from their last eight outings.
