(GSM) – Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes the club could go on to win the Premier League title if he is allowed to spend on big players in January.
The Spurs boss reckons this season’s title challenge remains ‘wide open’ as the big four seem to lack their usual consistency.
Redknapp said: “It’s there for someone to pull off a surprise. I am looking to buy in January. We need to tweak it to finish it off. I think Tottenham have got a championship in them in the next few years.
“I genuinely feel that, why shouldn’t I? Just because we haven’t won it for a while doesn’t mean Chelsea, Man United or Arsenal will carry on winning it. Why can’t someone else win it?
“We’re in the Champions League. This club is in a position now to keep pushing on because this title is wide open now.
“There’s no Barcelona or Real Madrid that are miles ahead up there.
“Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal are probably the best sides, but its getting closer between them and the other sides now. It’s really closing up.”
Tottenham beat London rivals Arsenal 3-2 and sit in sixth just six points behind joint league leaders Chelsea and Manchester United.
