Donny van de Beek is ‘highly likely’ to leave Manchester United this winter, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Dutch midfielder joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2020 for close to €40 million has been struggling greatly to earn a starting spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Versatile enough, Van de Beek can play any midfield role, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for the manager to give him a proper chance. Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Fred and Paul Pogba are all ahead of him for the places in the middle of the park, while Bruno Fernandes appears untouchable further up as a No.10.
Inter Milan and Juventus are reportedly keen to take him to Italy, and the player himself is said to be keen to go to Real Madrid, while Romano says there is no truth in stories suggesting he could go back to Ajax.
