According to L’Equipe, Leonardo Jardim is expected to go a bit left field with his next position in football – in the form of a stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr. The club are expected to announce his appointment within the next few days, which will likely cause some controversy in terms of the ‘bigger picture’ in world football.
Jardim was replaced as Monaco manager by former forward Thierry Henry back in October, following a poor start to the season. It’s no secret that this would be viewed as a somewhat ‘money grab’ of a move given the landscape of football in Saudi Arabia in comparison to many other places around the world.
There’s been a clear attempt to bring more players and managers to that part of the world in comparison to the dominating football continent of Europe, and it seems as if Jardim is the next piece of the puzzle.
