Following the relegation of West Bromwich Albion from the Premier League, several clubs that remain in England’s top flight are interested in signing Jay Rodriguez, according to Sky Sports. Burnley, the club where he started his career, and Bournemouth have expressed their interest in the striker, while Crystal Palace and West Ham are also monitoring the situation.
The Baggies have scored only 31 goals in the 2017/18 Premier League season, one less than the league’s top scorer Mohamed Salah of Liverpool. Therefore, Rodriguez, who scored 11 times in all competitions, will not likely be sold for a low price, regardless of the club’s relegation. Having joined from Southampton last summer for £12million, his contact with WBA runs until 2021. Sky Sports believe it would take a bid of over £20million to take the 28-year-old away from the Hawthorns.
Rodriguez has a single cap for England under his belt, from when he started in a friendly against Chile in 2013.
