Schalke forward Jefferson Farfan is nearing the exit door after the negotiations regarding the contract extension broke off.
The Peruvian striker has just over six months left on his deal at Veltins Arena, and the club chiefs did everything they could to keep the player in Gelsenkirchen.
According to Bild, Schalke offered Farfan a new contract until June 2014, worth around €6 million per season, which is more than double what he is earning now.
However, the player decided to reject the offer, while informing the club chiefs that he had plenty of offers from abroad.
The Miners subsequently withdrew their offer and are now ready to cash in on the player, especially as they already signed him a replacement, with Chinedu Obasi arriving from Hoffenheim.
