Jese Rodriguez close to Stoke switch

Stoke City are closing in on the surprise signing of Paris Saint Germain forward Jese Rodriguez, according to the Telegraph.

The Spain international completed a medical with the Potters on Monday and is set to join on a season-long loan, shunning offers from clubs in Serie A to fulfil an ambition of playing in England’s top division.

Jese moved to PSG last summer but scored just one goal in nine league appearances before being shipped out to Las Palmas for the second half of the season.

Prior to his move to the French capital, he played ninety-four times for Real Madrid, scoring eighteen goals and helping them to success in La Liga, the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League.

Stoke, who have been tipped as potential relegation candidates this season began the campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Everton and are priced at 15/4 to bounce back with victory at home to Arsenal on Saturday.
