Real Betis are close to signing Jese Rodriguez on a permanent basis after the Spaniard’s been released by Paris Saint-Germain, according to El Desmarque.
Having gone through the ranks at Real Madrid and won five trophies with them, Jese moved to PSG three years ago, but there has never really been a place for him in their team. He only spent half a season at the Parc Des Princes. The rest were loan spells – with Las Palmas, Stoke City, and eventually Betis.
Even though his favorite position is out wide, Jese is an extremely versatile attacking player, fully capable of operating as a striker, or behind one in an advanced midfield role.
Betis have apparently offered the 26-year-old a contract for four years which should see him earn €2 million per season. If the report by the French media outlet is accurate, it would appear that the La Liga side, who had initially decided not to activate their option to buy at the end of the loan spell, only did so in order to sign him later as a free agent.
