Jesus set for improved contract

Manchester City are set to offer Gabriel Jesus an improved contract, according to the Mail Online.

The Brazil international moved to the Etihad Stadium from Palmeiras in January and signed a £70,000-per-week deal in the summer.

However after an impressive start to his first full season in English football he is set to be rewarded with improved terms with talks over a new £100,000-per-week contract set to begin during this international break.

Jesus scored seven goals in eleven appearances in all competitions last season and has continued his form since the beginning of this campaign.

He came off the bench to make absolutely sure of Sunday’s win over Arsenal – a result which saw Pep Guardiola’s side extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

The Citizens are firm favourites to win what would be their first title in four years and can be backed at a price of 1/6.
