Jesus set for new Manchester City contract

Manchester City striker Gabirel Jesus is set to be rewarded for his fine form with an improved contract according to the Telegraph.

The twenty year old has impressed since signing from Palmeiras in January, scoring twelve goals in just seventeen appearances in all competitions.

This season he has netted in all but one of City’s games with only teammate Sergio Aguero and Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku have scored more in the Premier League.

The table toppers believe that a new contract would also fend off potential suitors with Pep Guardiola’s side keen to make an impact in four competitions this season.

The Citizens are also planning new deals for midfield duo Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva.

Manchester City face West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Cup, a competition they last won in 2016, on Wednesday evening and Jesus can be backed at 7/2 to open the scoring.
