German media outlet Bild has learned that Hannover forward Jimmy Briand will be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.
The 29-year-old only joined the 96ers last summer on a free transfer from Lyon, signing a one-year contract with the Bundesliga side.
However, having left his family in France, Briand has struggled to adapt to life in Germany and he is almost certain to return to Ligue 1 in the summer transfer window.
And the fact that both the fans and media have heavily criticised his latest performances is another reason why the experienced winger is keen to leave Hannover when his contract comes to an end.
The 96ers chief Dirk Dufner has moved to confirm the latest reports, and it now remains to be seen where Briand will end up.
Since joining the club from Lyon last summer, Briand has made 25 Bundesliga appearances, and he managed 2 goals and 4 assists in the process.
