Dutch striker Jerrel Hasselbaink has made an end to his career, after an ongoing conflict with Cardiff City.
The 36-year-old, better known as ‘Jimmy Floyd’ Hasselbaink, wanted to continue his career at Cardiff but the Welsh side had different plans and claimed to have the right to end the cooperation.
Hasselbaink, born in Surinam in 1972, began his professional career at Dutch club Telstar in 1990. Since, he represented AZ Alkmaar, Campomairense and Boavista in Portugal, Leeds United, Atlético Madrid, Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic before joining Cardiff in 2007.
In 1999 and 2001, representing Leeds and Chelsea respectively, Hasselbaink claimed the Premiership top scorer’s title.
The forward also played 23 games for the Dutch national team, and scored nine times.
