Joao Cancelo nears Valencia return

Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo should be heading back to Mestalla in January, according to Superdeporte.

Inter Milan had big plans for the right-sided defender when they signed him on loan with an option to buy for €35 million last summer, but things did not turn out the way they expected.

Cancelo only made five substitute appearances in Serie A, spending mere 45 minutes on the pitch in total, so it is clear that the Nerazzurri will not be activating the buy-out clause.

What is more, Valencia now want the full-back to return as soon as possible and they will attempt to cut the loan deal short.
