Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo will leave for Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to AS. The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Premier League club City and La Liga outfit Barcelona are very close to agreeing a deal for the Portugal international full-back.
Cancelo himself is keen on leaving City and has insisted on a move to La Liga champions Barcelona. The full-back will move to Camp Nou on a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent next summer. The plan is to get the deal sorted next week.
The Portugal international spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich from City. Cancelo helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title. As for City, Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season. Barcelona won the La Liga title last season.
