Competition: Champions League
Market: Joao Felix to score anytime
Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport
Looking to move one step closer to securing their spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Champions League, Atletico Madrid will make the trip out to Russia on Tuesday evening.
Starting with the hosts, while Lokomotiv Moscow might have received some praise for their display against Bayern Munich last week, the Russian outfit were hit with a 2-1 defeat on home soil and find themselves in the midst of an extended struggle. With a 2-2 draw against Salzburg on the opening round of fixtures the only point to their name, it is no surprise that Marko Nikolić’s men are a huge underdog to secure a route out of Group A and they once again put in another sluggish domestic display over the weekend. Hit with yet another 2-1 Premier League defeat on Saturday away at Sochi, Lokomotiv have continued freefalling down the table. Showing some extended issues at the back and now losing each of their last three contests across all formats, Tuesday’s hosts should be in for another tricky test at the RZD Arena.
As for the visitors, really bouncing back after opening their Champions League campaign with a 4-0 defeat against Bayern Munich last month, Atletico Madrid are still seen by many as a real La Liga dark horse this time around. Last seen over the weekend picking up a 3-1 win against Osasuna and also managing to get their first European points on the board last week, fans around the Spanish capital will be excited by Joao Felix’s recent purple patch. Certainly enjoying his most fruitful spell since making a record-breaking move to the Wanda Metropolitano, the Portuguese ace once again bagged a brace against Osasuna over the weekend and also recorded another pair of strikes as Atletico picked up that dramatic 3-2 win against Salzburg on home soil. The 20-year-old has racked up four goals in back-to-back appearances and will be confident of extending on that tally this week.
