Portuguese daily newspaper Record claims that Sporting CP star Joao Mario has decided to leave Estadio Jose Alvalade in the summer transfer window.
The attacking midfielder was one of club’s star performers this season, sparking interest from a number of top European clubs.
Record has now learned that Joao Mario’s agent Jorge Mendes has informed Sporting CP bosses that his client is ready to move on.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are all expected to submit official proposals in the coming weeks, although Sporting’s €60 million asking price is threatening to block any deal.
Capable of playing on the wing or as a central midfielder, Joao Mario has progressed a great deal this season and he established himself as an important player for both club and country.
The 24-year-old was named in Portugal’s Euro 2016 squad and he is widely expected to start the opening match vs Iceland, where the Selecao are 8/13 to claim maximum points.
