Spanish newspaper Superdeporte is reporting that Portuguese defender Joao Pereira is expected to leave Mestalla in the summer transfer window.
Valencia officials are perfectly satisfied with the player’s performances, but with his contract due to expire in June 2014, they look set to cash in on him at the end of the campaign.
However, given that Pereira is a first team regular for Portugal, los Che will wait until after the World Cup before entertaining offers for their prized asset.
The 30-year-old has recently lost his place in the side at Mestalla and is, therefore, expected to jump at the opportunity to leave the club in search of first team football.
Portuguese giants Benfica could return for the highly rated defender having had a €5 million offer for his services rejected last summer.
Joao Pereira joined Valencia from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2012 and has since made 46 La Liga appearances for the club.
