Spanish winger Joaquin Sanchez is close to returning to former club Real Betis, according to Spanish media outlet Marca.
The 34 year old has another year left on his deal with Fiorentina, but he has decided to go back to where it all started for him.
Despite gaining promotion to La Liga, Real Betis find themselves in all sorts of problems, and Joaquin is determined to try and help his club in this difficult moment.
The veteran midfielder is ready to accept a serious pay cut in order to rejoin los Verdiblancos, but it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
Since leaving Real Betis, Joaquin has represented Valencia, Malaga and Fiorentina, spending last two years at Artemio Franchi.
The highly rated winger had mixed success in Italian Serie A, making 49 league appearances for Viola and scoring 4 goals in total.
