Newcastle have lost Rafael Benitez, their two best goalscorers from last season in Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez, but that does not mean they will not try and replace them. With the arrival of Steve Bruce everyone is expecting to see their moves in the transfer market and it looks like we are about to see a big one.
Hoffenheim have confirmed that their Brazilian forward Joelinton is “concrete talks” with the Premier League club, as Newcastle aim to complete a record deal. According to The Chronicle Live, the 22-year-old’s agents were finalising an agreement with Newcastle on Wednesday. It was also reported that Bruce is supportive of the move, as Magpies are looking to a make Joelinton their new biggest transfer in club’s history.
Previously, Miguel Almiron took that record for himself when he arrived from Atlanta United last January. Joelinton contributed seven goals and five assists in 28 appearances for Hoffenheim last season.
