Ex-Arsenal and ex-Hamburg defender, Johan Djourou, has signed with Antalyaspor on a free transfer according to the Turkish side’s official Twitter.
After recent rumours that talks with Sheffield Wednesday broke down, the 30-year-old Djourou will now play for Antalyaspor, who finished fifth in the Turkish Süper Lig last year.
The Swiss international comes to Turkey after spending four years with Hamburg where he amassed 105 appearances for the Bundesliga side, and is most known for his nine years spent at the Emirates where he appeared for Arsenal a total of 140 times.
He also spent time out on loan joining Championship side Birmingham City and Hannover 96 during the 2007-08 and 2012-13 seasons, respectively.
Djourou will now join a team that features Samuel Eto’o and Jérémy Ménez in hopes that they will finish high enough in the Süper Lig to go to Europe next season, just missing out on a Europa League place by six points last year.
