Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord have agreed to sign NEC midfielder John Goosens when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and was recently linked with a move to Swansea City.
The Premiership side agreed a transfer fee with NEC, but the player then rejected an opportunity to join the Swans.
Feyenoord have now announced on their official website that Goosens has agreed a four-year deal with the club from Rotterdam.
Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel was delighted with the latest capture.
“We don’t have any left-footed players at the moment. John can play in various positions with his feet,” van Geel was quoted as saying.
“He is a young player, but he has the necessary experience in the league. He is also a type that matches Feyenoord.”
Goosens, who started just six league games this season because of ongoing injury problems, will complete a switch to Feyenoord when his contract at NEC expires at the end of the season.
