Croatia definitely aren’t the football force they were between the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, but their defeat to Scotland still came as a bit of a surprise. It should, however, be said that the visitors at Hampden Park played the entire second half with 10 men, after Petar Sucic received a red card in the 43rd minute.
It was Aston Villa captain John McGinn who settled the game in the 86th minute, after Ben Doak dazzled Josko Gvardiol to force a reaction from Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski.
Superb from Ben Doak. Superb from John McGinn.
We’re in the lead late on at Hampden 💪#SCOCRO pic.twitter.com/WJt0qU8hey
