The Mirror understands that Glen Johnson is keen to win back his place in Liverpool’s first team, as speculation regarding his future grows.
The 30 year old has started just three games in all competitions for the Reds this season, with on-loan right-back Javier Manquillo currently above him in the pecking order while Jon Flanagan will also compete with him once he returns from injury.
The former West Ham United, Chelsea and Portsmouth man’s contract expires in the summer, and talks over a new deal have stalled.
Johnson, who moved to Anfield in the summer of 2009, has also lost his place in the England squad with his last international appearance coming in the 2-1 defeat to Uruguay in the group stages of this summer’s World Cup finals.
A number of European clubs including Juventus and Champions League winners Real Madrid have registered an interest in Johnson, and may look to secure a cut price deal when the transfer window reopens.
