The Daily Star on Sunday is today reporting that Manchester City winger Adam Johnson is set to leave the Ethiad Stadium, with Sunderland being keen on securing his services.
It looks as though the Englishman may struggle to get into the City first team this campaign and he was not involved in the squad that faced Southampton in the opening weekend of the English Premier League.
It seems as though his home club Sunderland lead the chase to sign him, with Martin O’Neil ready to make a suggested £10 million bid for the midfielder.
Although the deal may not be that straight forward, with Johnson ready to weigh up his options before making a decision as to where he will play his football this season.
Both Everton and Tottenham are also set to keep tabs on the England international as they both look to boost their attacking options.
Should the Citizens sell Johnson, then they could be ready to make a move for Swansea’s Scott Sinclair as Roberto Mancini looks to add some raw pace into his squad.
With not long left in the transfer window, Mancini will want this deal done quickly to give him time to bring in new faces.
