Hamburger SV coach Martin Jol lauded his side’s second-half performance after they came from behind to beat Manchester City FC in their UEFA Cup quarter-final first leg 3-1.
“If we exclude the first minute, it was a good performance by my team. In the second half we played much better. We created many chances and in the end we seized three of them. In the first minute we forgot to keep an eye on Robinho and paid the price for that – he is such a brilliant player. You have to double-mark him when he gets the ball. If you don’t do that, he will punish you and that is what he did”.
“Manchester City did start very well, but overall I am very happy about our performance and the result. We now have the chance to get to the semi-finals”.
