Tottenham Hotspur have been handed the chance to sign Brazilian striker Jonas on a free transfer, according to the Mail Online.
The 30 year old has been out of contract since his release from Valencia, where he scored fifty-one goals in one hundred and thirty-nine appearances in all competitions over three-and-a-half seasons.
Prior to his move to La Liga in January 2011, Jonas netted regularly for Gremio in his home country, while he was also prolific during spells with Portuguesa, Santos and Guarani.
Internationally, he has been capped eight times, scoring both of his two goals in a 2-0 friendly victory over Egypt in November 2011.
Having failed to bring in a forward during the summer, Spurs remain low on attacking options with just Emanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane currently available to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The North London club return to league action with a trip to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, where they are priced at 11/10 to take all three points.
