Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis have announced the signing of French midfielder Jonas Martin from Montpellier.
The 26-year-old becomes club’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of Danish full-back Riza Durmisi.
Martin successfully passed a medical on Thursday before signing a three-year deal with the La Liga side.
Seeing as how he had had just one year left on his contract with Montpellier, it is believed that Real Betis paid around €2.5 million for his services.
Jonas Martin is another impressive product of club’s famous youth school, although he needed quite a while to start proving his worth at senior level.
The central midfielder amassed a total of 107 Ligue 1 appearances for la Paillade, scoring 6 goals.
He enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, scoring 4 goals and producing 3 assists in 36 Ligue 1 fixtures for the club.
