Italian giants Lazio are hot on the trail of Ludogorets Razgrad forward Jonathan Cafu, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Biancocelesti plan to reinforce their front line with Utrecht’s Sebastian Haller in the January window, but they will also need a wide forward in case Balde Diao Keita leaves in the summer.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Ludogorets Razgrad star Jonathan Cafu has emerged as their primary target following some early season heroics in the Champions League.
The 25-year-old scored two incredible solo goals to help the Bulgarian champions overcome Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League 3rd qualifying stage, before he scored and assisted in the unfortunate 3-2 loss to Arsenal.
The Brazilian has already scored nine goals on all fronts this season, and his excellent showings clearly did not go unnoticed.
Cafu had become club’s most expensive player when he signed for €2.2 million from Sao Paulo last summer, but it looks as though Ludogorets will, nonetheless, turn a nice profit on their star footballer.
