Jones keen for Manchester United stay

Phil Jones is keen to stay at Manchester United, according to the Guardian.

The England international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following the arrival of Eric Bailly while manager Jose Mourinho has also been linked with a move for Southampton’s Jose Fonte.

Jones moved to the Manchester club from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2011 and has since racked up one hundred and forty-one appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

He was part of the squad the won the Premier League title in 2013 – Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in charge of the club.

Internationally, he has been capped twenty times for his country with his last appearance coming in a 2-0 friendly defeat back in November.

He played four times in qualification for last summer’s European Championships but was not selected for the tournament.
