Olympique de Marseille announced via Twitter the season-long loan signing of full-back Jordan Amavi from Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old will exit Birmingham and will make his way back to his homeland after passing his medical on Thursday.
The French defender came to the Premier League side after signing a five-year deal and played for two years with Aston Villa.
In his first season, he appeared only 12 times in Villa’s horrendous relegation season in which they finished dead last with 17 points.
However, he was featured more in his second season with the club where he made 36 apperances with the Villans in the English Championship.
Now Amavi will come to a Marseille team that has brought in some fresh faces to the Vélodrome, hoping to stay competitive in a tough Ligue 1 this season.
Joining the loanee at OM are players such as Adil Rami, Luiz Gustavo and new goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
