Hamburg defender Joris Mathijsen has completed a switch to Malaga, according to AS.
After passing a medical at La Rosaleda the Dutch defender has signed a two-year deal, with an option to extend the contract for another year.
The cost of the transfer is between €2 million and €3 million with the player set to be formally presented next week.
The Dutch international had one year left on his contract at Hamburg, but wanted a new challenge after spending five years at HSV.
The player himself accelerated the negotiations as he is due to get married on Saturday and wanted his future resolved beforehand.
Mathijsen will be reunited with his HSV and international teammate Ruud van Nistelrooy at La Rosaleda.
