Tottenham Hotspur have made their first signing of 2020 and also the first signing since the arrival of Jose Mourinho as their manager. It was not a big surprise to see it was a player from Portuguese Primeira liga, as Spurs signed Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica. Now, he could be going after another Portuguese player.
According to El Desmarque, Mourinho would like to add Joao Cancelo to his squad at Tottenham Hotspur. Mourinho has been known for signing either Portuguese players or players from Portuguese top flight and that could be continued with Cancelo.
The Portugal international full-back only linked up with Manchester City in the summer of 2019, when he made a move from Juventus to England in a swap-transfer deal that had seen Danilo go the other way around. But Cancelo is now frustrated by a lack of game time with the Premier League champions and Spurs would also welcome a solution for their right-back position.
