Having parted ways with their long-serving striker Karim Benzema at the end of last season, Real Madrid were heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe to boost their attacking ranks. The saga around the France captain ended with him remaining at the Parc des Princes for the time being, and Los Blancos went for what seemed like a stop-gap solution when they signed Joselu on loan from Espanyol.
However, it appears that the 33-year-old doesn’t quite see it that way. Speaking to El Partidazo de Cope, he revealed his hope to make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu permanent when the current arrangement expires at the end of the season.
Joselu has certainly taken his role at Real Madrid seriously. His presence in the opposition box gives Carlo Ancelotti and his team a different kind of option, and he has so far managed to score five goals and contribute two assists in 13 La Liga matches this term.
⚪️ Joselu: “I hope to stay at Real Madrid and I’m ready to fight for that. It’s my main goal”, told Cope.
“I have responded quite well, scoring goals and giving the team points. Ancelotti has always been very direct and sincere with me”. pic.twitter.com/TrkSsQ8wwZ
