Josh Kelly’s second-half strike was enough for Solihull to claim a 1-0 victory over 10-man Wealdstone at Damson Park.
There was little to show from either side after the first 45 minutes, with Kelly, Jamey Osborne and Jon Benton creating the only real chances for the hosts and Max Kretzschmar testing Tommy Simkin with Wealdstone’s best opportunity.
Kelly finally beat Wealdstone keeper Jed Ward with a delicate touch in the 54th minute to score what proved to be the winner.
Stuart Maynard’s side were down to 10 men when Sam Bowen was issued with a second yellow just after the hour mark, but they did not concede another despite a late chance through Joe Newton, who nodded just wide.
