Ian McGarry has said on the Transfer Window Podcast that Liverpool are interested in signing Declan Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer of 2021. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in securing the services of the 22-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or as a defender.
McGarry has claimed that both Liverpool and United have made contact with the agent of Rice and have told him that they are interested in securing his services of the England international in the summer of 2021.
“He is no longer on the transfer list of recruitment possibilities for the Stamford Bridge club, but he has certainly roused the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United,” McGarry said about Rice on the Transfer Window Podcast.
“Both of whom have expressed interest to Rice’s agent as we understand and they have asked to be kept informed of any offers made for the England international.”
Rice is one of the best young players in the Premier League and has been superb for West Ham over the years. The 22-year-old has established himself as a regular in the Hammers’ midfield, and his performances have been key in manager David Moyes’s side challenging for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season.
