Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is ready to axe over 7 players as he looks to completely change the Spurs squad for next season according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
Tottenham are heading for a chaotic summer in the transfer market as Ramos aims to assemble a squad that will mount a serious Champions League qualification campaign next season.
Despite Tottenham claiming the Carling Cup last season, the clubs form began to suffer after the glorious win in February and ended up with only an 11th position finish.
Ramos now wants to inject new talent into White Hart Lane, which will also spark a mass exodus of players leaving the club and Ramos has reportedly given the Tottenham board a list of players he wants to sell. According to the Sunday Mirror these include Darren Bent, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Gilberto, Younes Kaboul and Adel Taarabt, all signings made by director Damien Comolli.
Bent managed to score 5 goals in 20 league games since his £16.5 million move from Charlton however, he failed to meet expectations from both club and fans and has failed to hold down a first-team place with the likes of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov at the club.
Prince-Boateng signed for Tottenham for a reported fee of £4.5 million from German club Hertha Berlin last summer. However, the once winner of Germany’s “Best Young Player” has struggled to make an impact during his time at White Hart Lane and looks set to exit the club
Gilberto joined Tottenham during the January transfer window and was Spurs’ second buy from German club Hertha Berlin. However, due to injury problems the Brazilian failed to make his debut until March, where the midfielder first came to the attention of many by gifting PSV Eindhoven the only goal of the game and eventually saw Tottenham exit the UEFA Cup.
Kaboul joined the club with much hype last summer and became a first-team regular during his first few months at White Hart Lane. However, under the reign of Ramos, Kaboul found his first-team chances becoming limited and has spoken out against Ramos on several occasions and is one of the most likely exits during the summer transfer window.
Fellow Frenchman Adel Taarabt also joined the club last summer, and again much hype surrounded the young French star with his quality technical abilities impressing many fans this season. However, Taarabt is said to be close friends with fellow Muslim Younes Kaboul, and with Kaboul unhappy at the club, Taarabt could also be set to leave in the summer.
Rumours also strongly link Paul Robinson  with an move away from White Hart Lane and it seems inevitable that star striker Dimitar Berbatov will also leave the club in a big money transfer this summer.
