Spanish full-back Juanfran Francisco Torres has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid, the La Liga side announced on their official website.
The right-sided defender has put a pen to paper on a new deal until June 2017 after establishing himself as a first team regular at Vicente Calderon.
Juanfran came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and went on to make six La Liga appearances for los Blancos before joining Osasuna in 2006.
After spending five and a half years at the club, featuring in 148 league games and scoring 12 goals, the footballer joined Atletico Madrid.
Despite arriving at Vicente Calderon as a midfielder, the 28-year-old was mostly used as a right-back by Diego Simeone, with his impressive showings in the new role even helping him break into the national team set-up.
Juanfran has so far made 79 La Liga appearances for los Colchoneros, scoring 2 goals, while earning 5 Spain caps.
He was a member of the title winning squad at Euro 2012, but watched the entire tournament from the bench.
