West Ham United are interested in signing Tariq Lamptey from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window, according to CaughtOffSide. The report has claimed that Lamptey is not completely happy with his contract situation at Brighton, and that West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui personally wants to bring him to London Stadium.
CaughtOffSide has claimed that Nottingham Forest, Everton and Brentford are also keen on Lamptey, who has been on the books of Brighton since January 2020. The Ghana international, who ca operate as a right-back or right wing-back, has played only 10 minutes in the Premier League and has scored one goal in three matches in the Carabao Cup.
West Ham are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from 11 matches. The Hammers are five points above the bottom three. As for Brighton, the Seagulls currently find themselves as high as sixth in the standings with 19 points from 11 games.
