Wolfsburg hotshot Julian Draxler has reiterated his desire to leave the Wolves for a top European club at the earliest opportunity.
The Germany international had caused a great deal of controversy by revealing his plans to leave the Volkswagen Arena outfit in the summer, although he eventually remained with his current employers.
However, Draxler is still keen on leaving the Wolves and he says he understands the fans, who have become disappointed with his lack of loyalty.
“I don’t think I need to tell anybody what (being booed) does to a person – it certainly doesn’t help you,” Draxler was quoted as saying. “There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field.
“I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that. I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that.”
Following some impressive displays for club and country, Draxler is widely regarded as one of the hottest commodities in European football, and he may very well be leaving in the winter transfer window.
Premier League high-flyers Arsenal are believed to be hot on his trail, but it remains to be seen whether Wolfsburg will be prepared to listen to offers for his services midway through the season.
