With the likes of Brazil’s Serie A and the MLS taking center stage this weekend, we have a stacked schedule throughout Sunday. So, for those of you looking to stick on a weekend acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.
Sunday July 17th
BST 02:00 FC Dallas vs Austin FC
Starting with Sunday’s guests, last seen putting in another hugely impressive display earlier in the week, there is no doubt that the mood in Austin’s camp will be at a red-hot high. Eventually storming their way to a thumping 3-1 victory at home against Houston, the Texas-based outfit are in the midst of a stellar purple patch. Making a string of improvements since opening the 2022 campaign, Head Coach Josh Wolff has been filled with praise for his side’s charge up the Western Conference. Now holding a one-point buffer over the chasing pack, the Oaks have now won each of their last four domestic outings. Likewise, on what has been a remarkable run, it should be highlighted that Austin have also taken 16 points from their last six MLS showdowns. Quickly gaining a reputation for their free-scoring displays after bagging a trio of strikes in their last three MLS victories, Sunday’s hosts should be smelling the chance to lay down another marker against their local rivals. On the flip side, last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss at home against New York City in midweek, Dallas are enduring a downbeat run. On a run that stems all the way back to May 28th, the Burn have now failed to win any of their last six straight outings. Also, mustering just a single point from any of their previous four contests at the Toyota Stadium, an away draw no bet can be found at very attractive odds here.
Tip: Austin FC draw no bet @ 11/8
18:00 Finn Harps vs Derry City
Left disappointed to have seen their Conference League adventure come to an end in midweek, Derry will be glad to turn their attention back to domestic duties here. Last seen on Premier Division action landing an action-packed 3-2 victory against Bohemians when opening July, the Candystripes are sat in pole position to claim another top-three finish this season. Although Ruaidhrí Higgins’ men might have endured a worrying May rut, it appears that Sunday’s guests have put those issues behind them. Now claiming back-to-back top-flight victories and enjoying a five-match domestic unbeaten run, Derry have also continued to impress with their displays on the road. Including that 3-2 win against Bohemians on July 1st, it should be highlighted that Higgins’ side have won three of their last four matchups away from Brandywell Stadium. On the flip side, while Derry might find themselves battling it out at the top of the Premier Division standings, Finn Harps are enduring a nightmare Premier Division run this season. Now holding just a three-point buffer from dropping to the foot of the table, the Blues have also failed to win any of their last nine top-flight contests on the spin. Managing to muster just a pair of points on that woeful run of form, Sunday’s hosts have also shown some extended issues on home soil. Watching Derry grab a 2-1 victory when they made the trip to Ballybofey last season, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
Tip: Derry City win @ 8/11
20:00 Sao Paulo vs Fluminense
Starting with Sunday’s guests, extending on their Copa do Brasil adventure earlier in the week thanks to a thumping 3-0 victory against Cruzeiro, Fluminense are enjoying a real purple patch. Skyrocketing their way up the Serie A table, Fernando Diniz’s men have now won each of their last six appearances across all competitions. With their stellar run of form highlighted by a 4-0 romp against Corinthians on July 2nd, the Tricolor have really found a clinical edge in the final third. Now sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the top-four, Fluminense have also impressed away from the Maracanã since opening the 2022 campaign. Including a remarkable 10-1 win against Bolivia side Oriente Petrolero back in May, Diniz’s side have lost just one of their last nine matchups on the road. As for this weekend’s hosts, watching their own eye-catching unbeaten run come to an abrupt end in midweek, Sao Paulo will be seeking an immediate response here. Eventually falling to a penalties defeat away at Palmeiras following a lively 2-2 draw on Copa do Brasil duties, that was the first defeat that the Soberano have suffered over the past month. However, gaining a reputation for their lively affairs, the Whites have seen four of their last five contests across all formats finish with both teams getting on the scoresheet. Likewise, it should also be noted, with three of the last four meetings between Sunday’s opponents finish with both teams finding the net, a similar outcome can be found at attractive odds here.
