With the MLS making its return in the early hours of Sunday, we have another stacked schedule on our hands. So, for those of you that are looking to stick on an MLS accumulator this weekend, we have found a trio of tips that can offer great bang for your bet.
Sunday July 1st
BST 00:30 Toronto vs Real Salt Lake
Mounting a stellar second-half comeback at home against Minnesota last weekend as they eventually snatched an action-packed 2-2 draw, Real Salt Lake should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Only continuing to shine on either side of June’s international break, Sunday’s guests have continued to gain a string of plaudits this season. Tipped as a leading contender to claim another play-off ticket in 2023, Pablo Mastroeni’s men have skyrocketed their way up the Western Conference standings. On a run that is highlighted by a remarkable 3-1 romp away at St. Louis earlier in the month, RSL are unbeaten in each of their previous six domestic appearances. Likewise, tasting just a single loss from any of their last 11 showdowns across all formats – a run that stems back to May 13th – Real Salt Lake have also enjoyed a major clinical edge in the final third. Along with marking their return from the international break with a 2-1 win away at DC United, it should also be noted that Mastroeni’s high-flying squad are unbeaten on their travels since the middle of April. With Toronto only showing a host of issues since returning from the fortnight interval, RSL should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Watching the Reds slump to a 2-1 loss away at New England last weekend, Sunday’s hosts have now lost back-to-back MLS appearances by an aggregate score of 5-1. With their extended struggle highlighted by a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Cincinnati earlier in the month, the Reds have now claimed just a single win from their previous 11 domestic contests. Given the huge recent gulf in class between Sunday’s opponents, an away draw no bet can be found at appealing odds here.
Tip: Real Salt Lake draw no bet @ 29/20
00:30 Columbus Crew vs New York Red Bulls
Putting in another hugely impressive performance last weekend as they claimed an eye-catching 2-0 victory at home against Nashville, Columbus are riding what has been a stellar wave of momentum on either side of the international break. Along with heading into the fortnight interval with a 2-1 win away at Chicago, Sunday’s hosts have mustered 13 points from just their last five MLS appearances. With that recent purple patch stemming back to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Nashville on May 28th, Wilfried Nancy’s men will be desperate to make another statement here. Breezing their way to another play-off spot this season, the Crew have certainly gained a reputation for their free-scoring displays. Including an action-packed 4-2 victory at home against Charlotte last month, New York will be more than aware that they face a real challenge this weekend. Although the Red Bulls might have been last seen claiming a rampant 4-0 win at home against Atlanta, Sunday’s guests are seeking some recent stability. Claiming just a pair of wins from any of their previous six domestic appearances across all competitions, Troy Lesense’s side have also failed to secure back-to-back victories since the middle of May. Still sat outside the play-off places, the former New Mexico boss will have a real headache over some mounting struggles on the road. In fact, including a shock 1-0 loss away at Seattle last month, New York have remarkably claimed just a single away win from any of their previous nine attempts – a run that stems all the way back to February 18th. It should be noted, with each of the last six meetings between Sunday’s opponents finishing with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 19/20
01:30 Sporting Kansas City vs Vancouver Whitecaps
Marking their return from the international break with a famous display away at Concaf Champions League finalists Los Angeles, Vancouver are enjoying what has been an astonishing run of form. Eventually claiming a stellar 3-2 win in California, the Whitecaps have skyrocketed their way into the play-off places. Enjoying what has been their brightest run in recent memory, Sunday’s guests have lost just one of their previous eight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to May 17th. Smelling the chance to make another major statement here, Vanni Sartini will be hugely excited by his side’s free-scoring displays in the final third. With their purple patch highlighted by a stunning 6-2 romp against Houston on May 31st, Vancouver have also notched 13 strikes on their five-match unbeaten run. With former Scottish sensation Ryan Gauld now finding the net in each of his last five straight appearances, the Whitecaps should be relishing a trip to Kansas this weekend. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home against Chicago, Sporting have shown a string of issues since returning from June’s international break. Along with a 2-1 loss at the hands of LAFC a fortnight ago, the Wizards have picked up just a single victory from their last five domestic appearances. Likewise, suffering back-to-back MLS defeats at Children’s Mercy Park, Peter Vermes’ squad should be worried by a lackluster record against Sunday’s guests. Winning just one of their previous five showdowns against Vancouver – a run that stems back to May 2021 – we are an away double chance can be found at appealing odds.
Tip: Vancouver Whitecaps double chance @ 20/21
