July 21st: Sunday’s Football Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With EURO 24 officially drawing to a close last weekend, the return of Europe’s elite is just around the corner.

While clubs from across the continent might be in the midst of their pre-season preparations, we have plenty of action to tide us over throughout Sunday.

With stacked schedule from the likes of Brazil’s Serie A, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing betting markets that are available.

12:35 Shanghai Port vs Qingdao Hainiu

Making real history last season as they got their hands on just a second Super League crown, Shanghai Port have only continued on another record-breaking flurry since opening up the 2024 campaign. Extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the week as they secured a 2-1 victory away at Zhejiang Professional, Sunday’s hosts have continued to gain a fearsome reputation. Laying down another marker last weekend as they stormed their way to a 5-1 romp against Beijing Guoan, the Red Eagles have now won all of their previous 14 consecutive appearances across all competitions. Likewise, not suffering a single defeat since getting the new campaign underway, Shanghai open up this weekend’s fixtures holding a two-point buffer over the chasing pack. It’s also worth noting, Kevin Muscat’s men have won their last five battles in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 19-5.

Watching their FA Cup run come to an abrupt end in midweek as they suffered a shock 2-0 loss at home against second-tier outfit Nanjing City, Qingdao find themselves at the heart of a real struggle. Signing off June with a woeful 5-0 drumming against Changchun Hainiu, Sunday’s guests have come tumbling down the Super League standings. Struggling to find any kind of stability since opening up the 2024 campaign, Yasen Patrov’s side couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge here. In fact, along with a 5-0 defeat when they last met Shanghai back on May 1st, they have lost all of their previous four showdowns by a remarkable aggregate score of 18-2. Two sides who find the mood in their respective camps at a polar opposite, Qingdao are rightfully tipped as a landslide underdog this weekend.

Betting Tip: Matias Fargas to score anytime @ 6/4 with Pribet

22:30 Fortaleza vs Atletico GO

Embarking on what has quickly become a remarkable Serie A romp this season, Fortaleza have rightfully received a string of praise from across Brazil’s elite. Last seen earlier in the week putting in another dominant display as they cruised their way to a 3-1 victory against Vitoria, Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s men find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Skyrocketing their way up the table and now with their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine top-four charge, Sunday’s hosts have now won all of their previous three Serie A appearances by an aggregate score of 6-2. Likewise, signing off June with a 2-1 win against Juventude, the former Huracan boss has seen his high-flying squad register 15 points from just their last six outings. Smelling another golden opportunity late on Sunday night, it should also be highlighted that Fortaleza have remarkably won all of their last eight consecutive showdowns at the Castelao.

Although Atletico GO might have secured a Serie A return this season, the Dragons find themselves at the heart of a public struggle. Last seen earlier in the week falling to a 1-0 loss at home against Vasco, Sunday’s guests are firmly scrapping it put in the drop zone and are pencilled in as a leading relegation contender. Opening July with a routine 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bragantino, Jair Ventura’s downbeat squad have now lost all of their last four straight Serie A battles by an aggregate score of 9-3. Along with failing to win any of their previous eight consecutive top-flight matchups, Atletico GO have also shown some rather glaring issues at the back. Including a 3-1 loss against Palmeiras in their most recent showdowns on the road, Ventura’s men have recorded just a single clean sheet over the past seven weeks.
