July 31st: Monday’s Daily Double – 4/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

With the return of Europe’s elite now fast approaching on the horizon, we are treated to another stacked Monday schedule from across the football globe.

So, for those of you looking to chuck on a Monday flutter, we have found a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

16:30 TPS Turku vs SJK

Putting in another stunning display last week and only continuing to skyrocket their way up the Ykkonen standings, the mood in TPS Turku’s camp is certainly at a red-hot high. In the midst of what has quickly become their brightest run of the 2023 campaign, Monday’s hosts have eased their way to a play-off ticket this season.

Last seen landing a famous 3-0 romp away at title contenders Gnistan, Mika Laurikainen’s men have won each of their last five straight second-tier appearances and they have gained a string of plaudits on either side of June’s international break.

Likewise, TPS are unbeaten in each of their previous nine straight Ykkonen outings – a run that stems all the way back to May 21st – fans around the Veritas Arena will be calling on their high-flying squad to make another statement here.

With their remarkable purple patch highlighted by a 4-1 victory at home against KPV earlier in the month, Laurikainen’s side have quickly gained a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third.

It should be noted, Monday’s hosts have notched a staggering 16 strikes on their five-match winning run over the past five weeks.

On the flip side, while SJK might have opened July enjoying their own eye-catching flurry, the Seinajoki-based outfit have struggled with their consistency over the past fortnight.

Last seen putting in a nightmare performance on home soil as they slumped to a woeful 4-0 drumming at the hands of Ekenas, Monday’s guests have now shipped eight goals in their back-to-back Ykkonen appearances.

Likewise, mustering just a trio of wins from their last 11 straight domestic showdowns on their travels – a run that stems back to January 28th – we are expecting what could be an enjoyable home victory here.

19:00 Defensores de Belgrano vs Flandria

Left heartbroken last season after just missing out on the chance to punch a play-off ticket, it is no secret that Defensores de Belgrano have their sights set on going one step further this time around. Making an immediate return to winning ways last week, Monday’s hosts sit just three points adrift of breaking into the top-nine.

Last seen putting in a rampant display as they breezed their way to a 3-1 romp away at San Martin, Pablo Frontini’s side will be confident of laying down another Primera Nacional marker here.

Excited to make a return to the Estadio Juan Pasquale on Monday night, the former san Telmo boss has seen his squad win three of their last four appearances.

Likewise, losing just one of their previous six showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to April 24th – the Belgrano-based outfit should be relishing Flandria’s arrival here.

Putting in another worrying performance last week as they slumped to a routine 2-0 loss at home against Almirante Brown, Monday’s guests find themselves sat rock-bottom of the Primera Nacional standings and in the midst of a second-tier nightmare.

Tipped as a leading contender to be hit with an immediate third-tier return this season, the Yellows have mustered just a single victory from any of their previous 10 straight appearances.

It should also be highlighted, Andres Montenegro’s struggling squad have lost each of their last six straight contests on the road by an aggregate score of 15-4.

Likewise, slumping to a 2-1 loss when they welcomed the play-off contenders to town back on March 25th, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
